Hawkeye framework enables AI agents to write cross-arch high-performance kernels from minimal examples
simran_s_arora · x · 2026-08-22
Hawkeye is a framework that brings hardware-awareness to coding agents by grounding them in a taxonomy of optimization strategies. For new GPU or accelerator architectures, users only need to write 10 unit tests and one solution kernel per strategy.
The framework enables agents to scale test-time compute with minimal supervision to generate high-performance kernels. Hawkeye can port kernels across architectures (Ampere, Hopper, Blackwell), chips (NVIDIA, AMD), and precisions (FP8, NVFP4, MXFP4), addressing the critical software support bottleneck amidst the explosion of new ML chips.
