Ex-Deloitte Exec: AI costs 10-20x traditional software
DavidLinthicum · x · 2026-08-22
David Linthicum, former Deloitte chief cloud strategy officer, stated in a podcast that generative AI costs could be 10 to 20 times that of traditional software. He criticized stalled transformations due to money and talent, and 'AI first' messaging that pushes teams to bolt generative AI onto everything instead of picking the two use cases that actually pay. He also noted cloud bills coming in far past forecasts and hyperscaler lock-in.
