Opposing datacenters is mostly coincidence, not rational drive for good policy

MaskedTorah argues that most opposition to datacenters is uncorrelated with drives that generalize to good policy preferences.
He suggests that even in a world where alignment was solved and AI development was safe, we would likely see identical opposition. Therefore, the current mobilization against AI infrastructure is largely coincidental with the fact that it poses a mortality risk.
