Black Forest Labs launches FLUX Upscale, regenerating video up to native 4K
dl_weekly · x · 2026-08-22
Black Forest Labs has released FLUX Upscale, a standalone FLUX Tool and API endpoint that regenerates any video (from 480p) at up to native 4K while repairing generation artifacts.
- Natively understands FLUX 3 output and fixes issues general upscalers miss: smudged faces, gridded artifacts on water/grass textures
- Two modes: Precise (4 steps, $0.07/mp/s — faster, cheaper, preserves identity/reference consistency) and Creative (8 steps, $0.10/mp/s — stronger repair and detail, may alter identity)
- upscalefactor supports 1.5x/2x/3x; an hd input lands at roughly 1080p/2K/4K
- Available now via the BFL API and playground
