GitHub Launches Agent Plugins 1.0 for Cross-Client Portability

GitHub released Agent Plugins 1.0, an open standard developed with AWS, OpenAI, and others, to bundle agent skills and MCP server configurations into a single installable package. This allows plugins to be shared across VS Code, Copilot CLI, and the Copilot app without duplicating manifest work for each client.
