A journalist built a document-whispering tool with Claude — and he's not even a coder

Investigative journalist Henk van Ess introduces Document Whisperer (formerly FlipSide, a Claude challenge tool): it hunts for bad intentions hidden in fine print — say, clause 47 — for reporters, researchers, lawyers and verification nerds.
The coding competition he joined is itself telling: 13,000 applicants including a US lawyer who cracked California's housing crisis, a Belgian cardiologist whose code helps him fix hearts, and a Ugandan automating road inspections — none of them professional coders. "A lawyer, a road inspector and a cardiologist walk into a coding competition" is no longer a joke.
