Magnitude (1.5k stars) is an open-source agent with local models built in — fully private and offline. It removes a major friction point for local coding agents: install with npm install -g @magnitudedev/cli, and it profiles your hardware, picks and downloads an appropriate model, then runs privately offline without setting up a separate Ollama-style serving stack. Supports macOS and Linux; Windows via WSL.
