Poll: over two thirds of Americans trust none of the major AI developers

A new poll finds more than two thirds of Americans don't trust any major AI developer; 69% lack confidence AI companies will act responsibly (only 13% are confident); and 7 in 10 want mandatory independent safety audits before new model releases. The distrust of tech runs deep, but the data suggests more than generic AI-skepticism is at work.
