Yoav Goldberg: mediocre work passes peer review too — answer critics, don't gatekeep

In a debate over whether scholars outside the field are qualified to critique AI research, NLP researcher Yoav Goldberg argues the right response is to explain why critics are wrong or add context — not to declare them a priori unqualified. He adds that very mediocre work does pass peer review, which definitely happens in CS, so review is no guarantee of quality.
