rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-08-21
Pew Research reveals the stylistic footprint of AI writing online:
- Punctuation: Em dash usage has doubled; Oxford commas increased by 63%.
- Specific Words: AI-favored words like "delve," "interplay," and "testament" have more than doubled in usage.
- Structure: "Negative parallelism" for comparisons has nearly tripled (though still rare overall).
Furthermore, AI writing spreads unevenly: By 2026, 9.4% of .com webpages show signs of AI editing/authorship, compared to just 1% for .edu and 0.8% for .gov pages.
