Mars is the experiment robot learning can't run on Earth
Dr_Singularity · x · 2026-08-21
A Pandaily article asks whether a robot can learn to do a job somewhere it has never been. On Earth the question never gets answered, because there is always a little real data to fall back on. On Mars there isn't: commands take long round trips, forcing genuine autonomy. Mars thus becomes a unique proving ground for the limits of robot learning.
