ChatGPT gets an Apple Messages plug-in that can read, draft and send your texts

OpenAI launched an Apple Messages plug-in that connects users' Mac Messages inbox to ChatGPT. The assistant can:
- Sort, analyze, and edit iMessage, SMS, and RCS conversations
- Suggest follow-ups based on previous day's messages
- Draft and send messages on your behalf, delete messages, and search deep message history
- Work with Codex and ChatGPT Work for professional use
Sends require user confirmation. OpenAI says the plug-in runs locally and doesn't create a message index, addressing privacy concerns.
