Hermes Agent introduces Blank Slate mode to disable default skills
Teknium · x · 2026-08-21
Teknium highlights the 'Blank Slate' mode in Hermes Agent, which allows users to disable all non-crucial default tools and skills. This feature can be enabled via the --no-skills flag during installation or through runtime commands like hermes skills opt-out, providing a clean environment to prevent token waste and model distraction. Skills are stored in /.hermes/skills/, and unused skills are automatically pruned after 30 days.
