Robots can't scrape the internet: Humyn Labs turns human experience into training data
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-08-21
LLMs learned from the entire internet, but robots have no such shortcut — real-world experience happens once and disappears. Humyn Labs is building the data platform for Physical AI.
Their key insight: useful robotics data can't just be hours of first-person video. Humyn's samples pair human activity with IMU, stereo depth, 6-DoF head pose, 21-point hand keypoints, wrist tracking, object tracking and dense action labels. Some captures even synchronize a head camera with both wrist cameras and separate IMU streams, preserving full structure around human demonstrations: egocentric video, inertial measurements, hand/head pose, object trajectories, depth, narration and synchronized multi-camera views.
The goal is teaching robots messy real-world tasks: ironing clothes with a toddler underfoot, restocking shelves in a crowded store, or assembling components on a variable factory floor.
