California startup LUUM built a robot that applies 25 lash extensions per eye

California-based LUUM created a robot that applies eyelash extensions on humans, working alongside a professional lash artist to speed up customized extensions.\n\nPreparation involves cleaning the lashes and applying barcode-marked under-eye and eyelid patches the machine can read. One robot isolates each lash while another picks up extensions, dips them in glue, and places them. The robotic hands are lightweight and simply fall off if touched by the client for safety. Each eye gets 25 lashes from the robot, with the artist finishing the rest.
