SplitRoute: macOS tool routes downloads via Wi-Fi and uploads via Ethernet

A developer released an experimental macOS utility called SplitRoute that optimizes network connectivity for the same LAN setup: downloads arrive via Wi-Fi while outbound IPv4 traffic—including uploads and download acknowledgments—leaves via wired Ethernet. The tool modifies system network service order and packet-filter state. It is currently in v0.1, largely untested, and unsigned/notarized, posing potential risks.
