Open-source Eidoverse: a persistent browser world where humans and AI agents coexist
repligate · x · 2026-08-21
repligate shared progress on the open-source project eidoverse-worlds (by anima-research): a shared, persistent virtual world for both people and AIs.
- Humans move through it fluently in a browser, while agents inhabit it at conversational cadence via the same protocol; worlds persist, accumulate, and are largely built by residents — by talking.
- Networking uses two planes: an append-only world log + lossy presence.
- Companion work Connectome (by tesseraantra) gives models persistent awareness of the world.
- Built on the eidoverse-video toolkit (AGPL-3.0), with full client/server/SDK/MCP structure; already runs well in-browser on decent hardware, though per-device optimization is still needed.
