OpenRouter's stealth model Ox Alpha sparks guesses about Chinese AI vendors
lxfater · x · 2026-08-21
OpenRouter launched stealth model Ox Alpha: a reasoning model for efficient coding, sustained agentic work, and production workloads, with a 1M token context window and text/image/video input. OpenRouter only routes requests; the developer remains anonymous, and prompts/completions are retained by the provider but not used for training. @lxfater guesses it's a Chinese vendor — Xiaomi, Huawei, MiniMax, StepFun, or Baidu. A separate analysis in the same batch points to the GLM family instead.
