Doubao Becomes a Task-Delivery System: Skill Store, Connectors, and Agent Squads
机器之心 · wechat · 2026-08-21
Machine Heart tests Doubao's major work-task update: its interaction unit is shifting from Q&A to task-and-delivery, increasingly resembling Codex. Three new capabilities anchor the release — a skill store with 100+ plug-and-play skills that encode stable workflows as reusable experience; connectors that read/write Feishu docs, Tencent Docs and other systems after authorization; and Work Buddy squads, multi-agent teams where each buddy is an independently configured agent with its own identity files and skills, coordinated by a captain with multi-level reporting.
In testing, roughly 400 words of prompting let Doubao run a full topic-to-article editorial workflow across browser, desktop, and Feishu, delivering structured drafts overnight. It also supports GUI control of Windows, phone remote control, cloud desktops, and a picture-in-picture virtual desktop. The takeaway: office-AI competition is moving from answering questions to completing entire jobs, amid a crowded field including ChatGPT Work and Kimi Work.
