The OpenAI Foundation granted $17.2M to SecureBio Detection to reduce the end-to-end detection time for novel pathogens from 14 days to just 3 days.
Key initiatives funded include:
- Optimizing logistics and automating processes.
- Scaling weekly sequencing throughput to 80B read pairs.
- Expanding the nasal swab program to three new cities.
The system uses metagenomic sequencing and AI-driven flag analysis for pathogen-agnostic detection.
