SpaceX launch cadence could enable 12-50 GW of space compute
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-08-21
Responding to a White House memo targeting over 1,000 annual launches by 2030, the author analyzed SpaceX's potential:
- SpaceX achieved 170 launches in 2025; 10x growth is trivially possible with more pads or Starship.
- Even with 100% Starship missions, payload would only be 100-170K tons, not yet making space industry "routine".
- However, this capacity is sufficient to support 12 GW of compute in space (author estimates up to 30-50 GW).
