Chinese researchers comprise 38% of US AI talent, US natives 24%

Data from NeurIPS 2024, ICM 2024, and ICLR 2025 proceedings reveals that 38% of American AI researchers originate from China, while only 24% are US natives. Other significant contributors include India (10%), Europe (9%), South Korea (5%), and Canada (4%).
