Hesai bets on lidar boom as Chinese smart car adoption surges

Hesai, the world's largest lidar maker, is seeing growth driven by Chinese automakers' push for intelligent vehicles. Despite a sluggish broader auto market, orders for lidar sensors have increased year-over-year. Adoption rates in the 150,000-200,000 yuan price bracket rose from 12% to 27% in early 2026.
