While chatting with ChatGPT about DeepSeek, AI reasoning and tech risks, a Reddit user casually said "medieval times would be cool without the horrible parts" — and stumbled into a new aesthetic: cyber-feudalism.
Not medieval clothes with neon slapped on, but a full cyberpunk society with feudal structure: knightly houses instead of megacorps, castles as arcologies and fortified data-center hubs, monasteries maintaining ancient servers, lords controlling energy and computation instead of land, and tournaments between augmented knights of rival Houses.
The author generated concept images with ChatGPT and notes that 40k, Dune and BLAME! come close but never fully depict a living cyberpunk-medieval society — and calls for a game, film or novel to commit to this genre.
