OpenAI Codex Rust v0.149: New Agent Dashboard and Vim Enhancements
github-actions[bot] · ghdev · 2026-08-21
OpenAI released codex rust-v0.149.0, introducing an interactive codex agents dashboard for searching, starting, and managing tasks. TUI sessions now support /cd, /pwd, and /cwd commands for directory management, along with expanded Vim editing capabilities like character replacement and motions (e.g., cw, c$). The update also adds codex queue for messaging existing sessions and enhances codex doctor to diagnose endpoint protection, network connectivity, and app state. SDK users can now pass exact CLI config overrides and select max or ultra reasoning effort. Bug fixes include reliable queue wake-ups, session permission restoration, WebRTC reconnection, and Windows Terminal history preservation.
