codex-router: bring Grok, Kimi, DeepSeek and Claude into Codex's picker
dr_cintas · x · 2026-08-21
The open-source codex-router drops non-OpenAI models straight into Codex's normal model picker, right next to the existing GPT models. It supports Grok, Kimi, DeepSeek and Claude, with per-provider OAuth login (no API keys), while leaving your GPT models and ChatGPT login untouched.
Setup: point Codex at the repo and let it install itself from the README. One gotcha: if you have both the ChatGPT app and a separate Codex on your path, you can end up with two different Codex versions, and the older one may choke on newer config — if the install looks off, reinstall clean.
