Deciding folks in SF aren't online enough, the author built a digital simulation of the city populated with live data and citizens. The project tracks Muni, BART, ferries, bikes, traffic, weather, earthquakes, and breaking news. The virtual world is populated by over 1,000 "synthetic" citizens who live their lives and react to events on their own subreddit (r/simfrancisco). The fog was also simulated.
