Locus Builds an OpenRouter for Everything: One Prepaid Balance Across 286+ APIs
kleffew94 · x · 2026-08-21
Locus (YC-backed) is building a billing and metering layer for agent platforms on top of an OpenRouter-style aggregator: one prepaid balance covers every API call across 286+ providers and 2,404+ endpoints, charged per call at prices you set, with failed calls costing nothing and a full ledger down to individual users.
Two products:
- Pay With Locus: a non-custodial USDC wallet on Base for agents, with allowances, budgets, and approvals, letting agents pay across 48 API provider groups autonomously.
- Locus Pro: platforms buy the API catalog wholesale and resell at their own markup via prepaid credits, metered per end user.
The post also pitches x402 native inference via model routing so agents can reason economically.
