Black Forest Labs launches FLUX Upscale: regenerate generated video up to native 4K
bfl_ai · x · 2026-08-20
Black Forest Labs has released FLUX Upscale, available as a standalone FLUX Tool and API endpoint, regenerating videos from 480p upward at up to native 4K. It natively understands FLUX 3 output and fixes issues general upscalers miss, such as smudged faces or gridded artifacts on water and grass textures.
Two modes are offered: Precise (4 steps, $0.07/mp/s), faster and cheaper, best for keeping identity/reference consistency; Creative (8 steps, $0.10/mp/s) pushes repair and detail but may change identity. Scale factors of 1.5x/2x/3x map an hd input to roughly 1080p/2K/4K. Available now via the BFL API and playground.
