Events are labor-intensive and hard to monetize, but vital for community

Reflections on organizing events over the past few years:
- Operational Complexity: Running events is one of the most labor-intensive tasks with the most moving parts and potential points of failure.
- Monetization Challenge: Very few people are willing to pay what events are actually worth.
- Community Value: Despite this, events are incredibly important for community and connecting people, especially in a world mediated by "slop" and corporate detachment where real human connection is scarce.
