outbid.lol's pay-to-outbid leaderboard goes viral as indie devs race to claim #1

outbid.lol is a leaderboard site with no ads, no API keys, no revenue sharing: pay more than the current #1 (minimum $1 over) and you take the top spot. The site has drawn 17,000+ visitors in 24 hours, and indie devs (Tolt, Knoku, Prospactive and others) keep outbidding each other for the top rank — currently $307 — with real click traffic to show for it.
The poster jokes that someone was polite enough to ask before making a copycat, which most people would never bother to do.
