AI as a library, not just memory
dfinke · x · 2026-08-20
Proposes a shift from asking AI to "remember" to giving it a library it can organize, search, retrieve, and use.
The author is running a live experiment to see how little machinery is needed to make work compound:
- A tiny agent harness
- Five basic tools
- Markdown
- An LLM
The goal: work shouldn't disappear when the chat ends; it should build up like a library.
