Notion open-sources Lore to build shared, persistent memory for AI coding agents
ivanhzhao · x · 2026-08-20
Notion's engineering team has open-sourced "Lore" to address the lack of cross-session and shared team memory for AI Agents. Agents often lose experiential knowledge, follow-up tasks, and decision records due to statelessness. Lore uses Notion as a persistent backend, allowing agents to save decisions, procedures, and facts as pages accessible to both humans and agents. It supports all MCP hosts like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor to access the same knowledge vault. The project is now open-source with a full setup guide.
