Anthropic details how Claude accelerates protein design and chemistry

Anthropic published results demonstrating Claude's impact on life sciences:
- Protein Design: Claude (Mythos Preview and Opus 4.8) designed protein binders from scratch for 15 targets, succeeding against 14. 22%-35% of individual designs bound successfully, compared to the typical 10-15% today. Some top designs bound several times tighter than previous bests.
- Chemical Analysis: Claude Opus 5 analyzed raw NMR and LC-MS data files with just a two-sentence prompt. It returned finished results in 23 and 19 minutes, matching the lab's analysis on hydrogen counts and purity (96.4% vs 96.33%).
These examples show how Claude reduces the time and computational expertise needed for complex scientific tasks.
