US Agencies Warn Attackers Using AI Coding Assistants for Critical Infrastructure Attacks
TechNadu · x · 2026-08-20
US agencies are warning of an active threat to Siemens S7 PLCs across water and other critical infrastructure. Attackers are reportedly using AI coding assistants to develop exploitation scripts disguised as OT monitoring tools.
Defenders are advised to watch for unusual PLC writes, connections from non-engineering systems, repeated S7comm attempts, and scanning on port 102. Affected families include S7-200/300/400/1200/1500.
