xAI has released Grok Build, a powerful local coding agent now powered by the latest Grok 4.6 model. Designed to handle complex workflows, it can be installed via a simple curl command. Key features include:
- Plan Mode: Architect complex projects with a plan viewer that blocks edits until approval, showing clean diffs for every change.
- Skills System: Supports AGENTS.md, plugins, hooks, and MCP servers. It auto-invokes based on task matching or allows capturing sessions as new skills via /skillify.
- Plugin Marketplace: Enables sharing capabilities across teams via bundles, compatible with Linear, Sentry, Postgres, and browser MCPs.
The tool is currently available to try for free.
