ISMIR 2026 Paper: Simple Latent Transport Matches Large Models for Bandwidth Extension
umpedronosapato · x · 2026-08-20
A new paper accepted to #ISMIR2026 reveals that simple latent transport across multiple neural codec spaces can achieve bandwidth extension (BWE) performance "on par" with much larger models. This finding challenges the necessity of gigantic deep models for BWE and opens up new possibilities for leveraging latent space geometry in music restoration and audio codecs.
