Uber launches Baidu's driverless Apollo Go robotaxis in Dubai starting Aug 20

Uber announced that starting August 20, riders in Dubai requesting UberX or Uber Comfort may be matched with Baidu's fully driverless Apollo Go vehicles, with a dedicated 'Autonomous' option to increase the odds. Apollo Go had already operated in Dubai via a partnership with Dubai Taxi Company; New Horizon Luxury Transport serves as fleet operator. Dubai is the launchpad of a multi-year partnership aiming to scale thousands of Apollo Go vehicles across Uber's global network.
