Moderna and Merck's AI-assisted personalized mRNA cancer treatment has succeeded in a Phase 3 trial. The approach sequences a patient's tumor, uses AI to identify mutations likely to trigger an immune response, and produces an individualized mRNA treatment encoding up to 34 neoantigens. Phase 2 data showed a 68.8% 5-year recurrence-free survival rate (vs. 49.1% with Keytruda alone), reducing the risk of recurrence or death by 49%.
