At Baidu AI DAY, the company launched Wenxin Assistant Task Engine 2.0, free of charge, handling Office work, cross-platform research and data cleaning. The engine plans tasks first, routes models/tools per step, and uses long-context memory to avoid forgetting on long tasks.
In hands-on tests: 4 screenshots converted to an 86-row Excel in 2.5 minutes; an interactive HTML M&A research report built from Baidu Netdisk files, Xueqiu watchlists and CSRC filings; a 3D solar system simulator from a one-line prompt. Baidu Search also added "GUI interactive answers" with 2,326 components covering K9 math/physics/chemistry. The task agent tops PinchBench v2 with 94.6% success and SuperCLUE-XClaw with 97.62 points; DAU grew 83% YoY in June.
