ByteDance's Coze desktop app lets agents touch local files and Claude Code
vista8 · x · 2026-08-20
ByteDance's Coze launched a desktop client aimed at office scenarios: new cloud-drive sync and "deep screenshot" features, direct local file read/write for agents, auto-detection of local Codex CLI and Claude Code for multi-agent collaboration, plus fresh model integrations including GLM 5.3, Seedance 2.5, and MiniMax H3.
The author used it to produce a full promo kit for a new book: the agent read the local outline and generated a promo website (3 rounds of tweaks), a pitch deck via the /ppt skill, and a promo podcast, with outputs auto-saved to Coze's synced cloud drive.
Handy tip on Mac: enable deep screenshot in settings, then press Option keys to inject a window screenshot plus its structural text into the chat — great for webpage debugging.
