X.ai launches Grok Build: A local coding agent with MCP and plan view

X.ai released Grok Build, a local coding agent designed to integrate the Grok 4.6 model directly into user workflows.
Key Features:
- Skills & Plugins: Supports Skills, plugins, hooks, and MCP servers out of the box. Allows capturing sessions as new skills via /skillify.
- Plan Viewer: Features a "Plan Mode" for architecting complex projects. All edits are blocked until approved, showing clean diffs for every step.
- Marketplace: Supports installing bundles (skills, agents, hooks, MCP) from a marketplace or any git repo, integrating with tools like Linear, Sentry, and Postgres.
An installation script is provided, and it is currently available to try for free.
