DeepSeekHarness v0.1.0-rc.8 Lets Claude Code and Codex Run as Installable Subagents
APPSO · wechat · 2026-08-20
DeepSeekHarness released v0.1.0-rc.8. The headline change: Claude Code and Codex can now be installed on demand as subagents (Profile Bundles). Codex support goes further with a non-interactive permission mode and multiple named instances running different tasks in parallel, while reportDelivery now wakes waiting parent agents promptly for smoother multi-agent coordination.
On multimodal, the DeepSeek model adapter supports native image requests—/goal and /plan commands accept image+text input, so you can hand a screenshot of a UI bug straight to the agent. Other updates include concurrent websearch queries, persistent PowerShell sessions on Windows, and performance improvements for long-session forking and the SQLite backend (note: the new SQLite schema is a breaking change).
The strategic direction is clear: models and task-executing agents are swappable, but the harness that orchestrates models, agents, tasks and tools sits upstream—developers may soon choose a harness to run Claude Code, Codex and DeepSeek together rather than picking one tool.
