Google Cloud Run launches separate Sandboxes and Instances for distinct use cases

The Google Cloud Run team identified distinct use cases for "Sandboxes" and "Computers." They shipped Cloud Run sandboxes for ultra-fast, on-the-fly code execution and are rolling out Cloud Run instances for the "always-there computer" use case. While a single offering might achieve both, they decided to separate them for various technical reasons.
