Open-source tool 'cass' replaces index engine to optimize Agent session search and backup
doodlestein · x · 2026-08-20
The developer tool cass (codingagentsessionsearch) has been updated, replacing the underlying Tantivy index with a custom Quill lexical index, along with numerous other improvements.
This tool provides both TUI and CLI interfaces, supporting the indexing and searching of local AI coding agent session history across 11+ providers (such as Codex, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, Aider). Beyond search capabilities, it also serves as a segregated local backup, protecting valuable session data from being accidentally overwritten or lost.
