Client wanted local Claude for all staff; consultant suggested cloud agents
verrsane · x · 2026-08-20
A consultant shared a case where a client wanted to run Claude Code locally for everyone (devs and non-devs) to train its behavior. The consultant argued this was a job for cloud agents and infra, proposing three solutions:
- Cursor: Industry standard for guiding frameworks/infra setup. Client rejected due to dislike of Grok/Elon.
- OpenInspect (by @colemurray): Open source and self-hostable, but requires maintenance. Client rejected, preferring a $20 fully managed service.
- Devin: Client accepted. The consultant highlighted its strong sales team and ability to help setup verification, code review, and deployment systems.
