TRACES Benchmark: First Standard for Evaluating AI Discovery

Apodex AI released TRACES, the first benchmark designed to measure 'discoverative AI'. Unlike existing benchmarks that test retrieval of known answers, TRACES requires systems to process evidence, test hypotheses, and reach verifiable conclusions on problems without answer keys, mimicking actual scientific discovery. The release includes a definition of 'discoverative intelligence', a rubric to distinguish sound investigation from luck, and an open call for both solvers and problems.
