OpenAI previews 'Private Safety Processing' for enhanced security with ZDR
soumitrashukla9 · x · 2026-08-20
OpenAI announced 'Private Safety Processing,' a new feature designed to improve safeguards while maintaining Zero Data Retention. In ZDR deployments, content stays on customer-controlled infrastructure. Automated systems analyze patterns across related interactions to return limited safety signals without exposing underlying prompts or responses to OpenAI staff. An OpenAI-hosted option encrypted with customer-controlled keys is also in development, with a planned rollout to early customers starting in September.
