OpenAI Clarifies Trusted Access: Technical Issue Caused Re-verification Requests

An OpenAI employee clarified that trusted access is not limited to the US/EU, believing cyber capabilities should be broadly available with safeguards. Following reports that security researchers outside the US/EU were losing access or facing refusals, OpenAI stated that a technical issue affected a limited set of users, and those affected should have received emails to re-verify.
