CFTC Requests Comment on Listing of Compute Derivatives Contracts

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued a request for comment to better understand and oversee derivatives markets for compute. Chairman Michael S. Selig stated that a robust derivatives market for compute is essential for the U.S. to win the AI race. The request seeks input on the size and liquidity of compute cash markets, oversight and manipulation concerns, customer protection, and perpetual compute futures. Comments will be accepted for 60 days following publication in the Federal Register.
